You’re surrounded by luscious, deep green trees and you’ve made it to the clearing to catch a glimpse of blue, so you take a few more steps to discover four amazing, fresh, clear lakes. You’ve worked hard to get to this point in your hike and you are rewarded by the breathtaking scenery; it was definitely worth the climb.

Is it just us, or is downsizing a little scary? I mean, there’s downsizing and then there’s downsizing. We spent our entire lives working hard and making sacrifices to buy our home and make sure that there were enough rooms for each of the kids, a two-car garage, and a big backyard. For some of us, we just aren’t ready to give that all up yet.

If you get your first job at 15 and retire at 65, you will have spent five decades in the workforce. Punching the clock for the final time is going to feel amazing, but after a few weeks, or maybe a year or two, you may find yourself itching to get back at it and contribute to the work world again. Maybe your new career will also help you fund your round-the-world travels or help out family members financially. Whatever your reasons for working, there are a number of great careers that will keep you busy and keep you fulfilled in this new phase of your life.
